He will be there. You gotta think that management learned from their mistakes with Shaq in which they got a bunch of crap in exchange for a more dominating center in the league (granted he was on the decline). They would be foolish to let Kobe go for a group of players and I don't think they'd get fair value if they tried to trade for another superstar. I personally hope Kobe is stuck on mediocure teams for the next 5 years. Even Michael needed Scotty, but Kobe thought he could do it alone.

Hasn't been to practice in three days, resting his leg he says. Didn't actually clean out his locker, but did clean it up and took a bunch of stuff home. When confronted about this by the press he was unusually non-talkative.

Stick a fork in him, he's done.

As much as I'd like to see Kobe go to Da Bulls, we'd have to give up way to much to get him. I can part with Gordon, but not Deng and it would take both of them to grab somebody like Kobe.

I'd maybe even feel good about Gordon and Hinrich, but we'd then have to go out and grab a PG. Duhon just wouldn't be able to fill Kirk's shoes.

uh... if kobe really wants to leave then the lakers might not get that much for him. he did say the only other place he would play would be chicago, but i think hes full of shit. one intriguing aspect would be that kobe would be in the same conference, and would get to play against shaq in the playoffs and such. i bet he's chompin his bits at that idea...

Kobe is not leaving the Lakers. They will give him any amount of money to make him stay, he attracts the audience. No Kobe = Pissed fans = empty stadium cept for Jack Nicholson.

doubt it.

Kobe is getting older. its time to try to trade him for a few good young players.

personally i don't want him in Chicago.

Buy tickets to any Dallas Maverick home game next year if you want to see Kobe play.

He also said that he'd play for Dallas or Phoenix. But the Lakers aren't stupid enough to trade in the same conference and have to deal with him 4 times during the regular season. Not only that, the Suns aren't willing to trade Amare so a deal won't be struck as they're more willing to ship off Marion and obviously not Nash. Pretty much the same deal with Dallas since they won't trade Dirk for Kobe. Unless they do a big package with Josh Howard and others.

OP, I'd say that you're pretty safe buying tickets. Kobe has a no-trade clause so he can say "no" to a team like the Bucks. He'll probably stay on this season and get traded before next year's draft. Otherwise, he can walk away the following season and the Lakers would get nothing back.

buy tickets to a lakers-warriors game. So you can see him play for the warriors after we trade them 3 scrubs.
