Let me start off by saying that I have nothing against gay people, and I am not going to judge kevin smith any differently if he was gay or staight. Well, now that I've hopefully protected myself against flames:
Is kevin smith gay? Kevin smith is 'Silent Bob' in a bunch of movies. I've mallrats, chasing amy, dogma and I finaly saw jay and silent bob strike back and there were a BUNCH of hints that impied that Kevin Smith was gay. I could also see that being an amusing thing to do for 2 stoners, pretend like they were gay.

I think at some point in every View Askew movie they make references to on of the characters being either gay, or sexually perverse in some way.

Examples.

Mallrats.
Brodie to Stan Lee - "The Thing, is his dork made out of that weird orange rock too."

Dogma
Chris Rock about Jay - "You masterbate more than anyone else on the planet" ... "When you do it, you're thinking about men."

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

Jay about Silent Bob - "He LOVES the cock."

Clerks - Let's not forget Mr. Snowball

Chasing Amy - Half the cast was playing gay in some way.

The major point of the View Askew movies is humor, alot of time low browed humor. And gay jokes are low brow humor.

Ok, I am probably one of the biggest Kevin Smith fans on the planet, so I am feeling a big need to stick up for the guy here (forgive me but I think he is one of the most under-rated directors out there).

First of all, no Kevin Smith is not gay. End of story.

Second of all, yes there are boat loads of gay inferences in the Jay and Bob movies. (And IMO - they are all bust-a-gut funny) If you can't differentiate between Kevin's on screen character and his real life, then you've got yer own problems . . .

Third of all, "And gay jokes are low brow humor." Whatever! Do yourself a favor dude, learn to lighten up a little bit. It'll make life a whole lot sweeter.
