is kazaa downloading being cracked down by riaa?

ummmm, when you're done downloading the files.. doesn't that also turn you into a host.. anyhow, you're downloading.. you know what that means.. the RIAA says downloading is a big no-no. 
Rule of thumb. Downloading copyrighted materials is illegal. Don't do it. Matter of fact, if you don't want to get caught by RIAA, DON'T DOWNLOAD COPYRIGHTED WORKS!!

maybe if record producers would stop mutilating their artist's audio work when the final cd is pressed then i would buy a few. i'm not going to buy "hot" ruined radio mixes of otherwise originally decent sounding music.

How does the RIAA know that the songs you have are copyrighted? I mean, some idiot could name any file for example, billyjean.mp3 , but really it could be your voice with the real song name for the file. In order for the RIAA to know it's real, they have to download it to check it out. Wouldn't that make it illegal for them to download songs?
Also, what if you're downloading songs and you own the cd with those songs, but you're too lazy to rip it yourself. How does the RIAA know that? (i know it's rare, but it could still happen)
