An idea or belief changes from one of liberalism to conservatism...or vice versa...depending on the time we live in and who it effects. Enviromentalism was considered a conservative issue back in the early 20th century. Now it's considered a liberal issue.
I firmly believe Jesus would scoff and be ashamed of today's so-called religious christian conservatives. He would angry given their extreme hypocrosy. Organized religion with their bible-thumping members and devotion to christian ideals only when it doesn't interfere with their desires and wishes.
My image of Jesus was one of a person who cared about the people around him and everywhere. Feeding the hungry. Sacrificing personal fortune and fame for the greater good of all.
Jesus, if he were alive today, would cry at the sight of starving children in the world while the so-called religious conservatives drive to church in their Cadillacs and Mercedes.
Jesus was both a conservative and liberal. He was the best of both. Many of today's hypocrites like to label themselves either or. But I honestly believe Jesus and any truly good human being can't simply be labled either way.
