Never owned an iPod, or messed with one before. My friend got one for his bday and wants me to set it up. Tips?

No reason not to use it IMO.

use iTunes first, then decide not to use it if you don't like it. No reason not to use it IMO.

And that if you have your library organized a different way iTunes likes to ignore that and do it the way it likes.
iTunes would work for me if it was 100% user customizable. Leave it to apple to make something work their way and tell people that's how it's supposed to be.

Obviously you checked all the boxes when installing, including "Keep my iTunes music folder organized."
1) Why would you want to do that? You already have your music on your computer because you copied it from there in the first place.Originally posted by: Astaroth33

Unless, of course, you decide you want to get the music back off the ipod... In which case, you'll rapidly find out that iTunes won't let you do it. Try SharePod (haven't tried this myself, but heard it works.)
