HAHA, I think I'm one of the few people in these nerdy forums that thought the entire X-Men movies that came out where complete trash. They are awful and Hugh starred in them all. I did like his role in the Prestige though and a few other movies. I don't find him a terribly great actor though. Not bad, but not great. I'll catch this movie sometime later on Netflix if I can remember it when it finally gets put on Netflix 3 years from now.

I thought the first two were ok when I first saw them, but now think they're pretty bad. The second one is the best, but its an average movie made worse by its atrocious use of the X-Men franchise. I thought that the original trilogy was mediocre at best, never understood the hard-ons people have for the series. Never really liked Wolverine as he always talks smack but really didn't do anything - having said that, I thought Hugh Jackman was much too tall, clean and handsome to be Wolverine.

I did, however, really liked the X-Men:First Class movie.

Not discrediting you (as I didn't read the comics growing up) but what did he do, specifically? As far as the comics I've read he really didn't do anything bad nor go on a killing rampage like how the comic nerds (and other comic characters) make him out to be.

You should watch First class, it was really well done.

I thought first class was a big meh.

while X-Men 2 was one of the better--top 5, easily--comic book movies out there.

He definitely wasn't the comic book Wolverine, but I thought Jackman did a great job, playing that role that was written for the screen.

I'll watch it sometime probably, but I don't have high expectations of a live action Rockem Sockem Robots. Still, I can't say that I'm entirely uninterested. It just that my experiences with movies of this ilk have jaded me.

The AMC theater I'm going to is charging $16/ticket for the IMAX version. Holy F that's expensive.

Regarding the X-Men movies...Hugh Jackman is a pretty good Wolverine. I mostly remember that character taking a beating and rushing in while acting kind of nuts. He didn't seem to take the role to seriously in the horrible origins movie but with a script like that who would? He isn't "a little to tall" though...he's WAY TO FUCKING TALL. Wolverine is 5'3" meaning he should be the shortest character on screen unless there are children present. It's understandable that a more attractive version of the character would appear during the Hollywood transition but Hugh Jackman is a tall guy, not an averag height guy.
