Is it worthy of getting an additional VGA cooler?

I'd rather spend $30 extra to get preoverclocked XFX 7900GT 550/1630 card. The fan on it is adequate and it shouldn't be awfully loud since it runs at 2000 rpm. I am not sure what you mean by G80 since that card isn't out. My advice is to get the card and if you are unhappy with it you can always order a cooler for it. No need to waste $30 unless you find your overclocked speeds inadequate or the fan too loud. Also don't consider 7800 series with 7900GT OC around.
 
On the 7800GT/GTX I'd get the NV5 Silencer Rev. 3 just beacuse of the quiter/better cooling it provides. Plus it exaust the hot air out the back of the case.

The cooling seems adaquit on the 7900GTX though (the quadro cooler)

The 7900GT leaves a little to be desired though.
