You could perhaps OC your CPU to 3000+ or better speeds, though.

That or get an A64 for a serious improvement, which is what i am planning to do when the 939 & PCI-E boards have been out for a bit.

thought so ..... I can OC mine to 2800+ without any issues ..... is 3000+ a good overclocker ?

The cores on the slower and faster XP Bartons are similar, so no, 3000+ won't overclock well. Most 2500+'s can run at 3200+ anyway (11*200). You may be limited by your ram though since you're using PC2700. If you want a good overclocking CPU, the XP mobiles are the best, but a 2500+ is the next best thing. I'd say your cpu is good to keep but you could use faster ram if you want to see how far you can push your other parts.

At the very least you should be able to get that 2500+ to 2.2GHz, 2.3-.4 if you're lucky.
