Is it worth to buy the new PC-150 2-2-2 Memory from Mushkin?? Or is it just a different name same stuff??

People swear by Mushkin because of stability and customer service. If you're planning to overclock like a mad dog then Mushkin would be a good idea. Knowning I put Kingston ram into my rig would be unsettling.

whoa there, he said Kingsmax not kingston, and the tinybga stuff kick a$$, basically equal to the mushkin stuff in performance, price is MUCH cheaper.

I agree, Because I have a pair of Kingmax PC-150..... but I am not sure about the timing though, whether it's 2-2-3 or whatever it might be. However, I am sure Mushkin's 2-2-2 is better than Kingmax. But performance wise, I don't think 2-2-2 would offer much increase over 2-2-3.

Im surprised how many people get Kingmax and Kingston mixed up. Anyway, the Mushkin High Perf Rev3 is $133, guarrantees 150MHz 2-2-2, the Kingmax is only $85, and guarrantees 150MHz at I dont know what settings. Both will do 133Mhz 2-2-2 however.

The TinyBGA stuff is very nice. You can't go wrong with it. I don't know what you'd be running at 150Mhz FSB, so I seriously doubt that it matters.

actually, I am running at 153. I have a Duron system, which 8.5 x 115. which mean 133+115+5(PCI).
I just check out the Kingmax's website, their PC-150 module is 3-3-2 or 2-3-3.
CAS Latency = 3
RAS to CAS Delay = 3
Precharge Delay = 2

Where as Mushkin's is 2-2-2
But again, I don't konw how the performance will differ too much though. Will THEY?

Actually people have been able to run the Kingmax at 2-2-2 150MHz, but nothing is guarranteed. If you want absoluetely guarranteed, spend the extra $50 and get Mushkin.

Also, I dont know how you calculated that you'll be running 153MHz, if your FSB is 115, +33 will give you 148MHz.

but plus the PCI isn't it? 133+15 and which is 5the PCI mhz...
I thought 133+15*148, but then I checked the Sandra 2001. it says 153
Besides, within the BIOS setting, it says the RAM clock + PCI clock, while I increase the FSB up to 115 it also increase PCI 38mhz. THen 133 becomes 138+15

133?? I thought your front side bus is 115, are you talking about the +33 feature for RAM? If so then your FSB should be 148. The PCI bus has nothing to do with the front side bus, it does not add up to the actual front side bus you're running.

Right, I am talking about the DRAM Clock under BIOS.
I am using the HCLK+PCICLK.
Which means the Host Clock 100 plus PCI Clock default 33 =133.
However, once I increase the FSB from 100 to 133, the PCI clock was also increased, to 38mhz.
Now, back to the HCLK+PCICLK. It becomes 100+38+15, that 15 comes from the FSB increment.

Let me get this straight, 100MHzFSB, +15MHz for OC, +33MHz for FSB:RAM ratio, and the result is 148MHz.

The PCI bus is 1/3 the FSB, 115*1/3=38, thats 5MHz gain on the PCI bus.

What Im trying to say is, the PCI frequency gains does not contribute to the RAM speed.

I have not seen anything like that before, if you will, can you go through the thing again a little bit more detailed.

Is it 33% of the FSB or 33% of 100Mhz default FSB?

I thought its always been -/+33 in MHz.

Ok it looks like Im mistaken, I thought its -/+33 in MHz, in fact its in percent.

I don't know, but the the Bank Timiing is set Turbo, and 4 way interleaving. every settings for memory were set to the high level. So, I suppose it's running 2-2-2.

I was talking to office boy, look at his sig, it says TinyBGA 150MHz@2-2-2, thats gotta be the Kingmax.
