I have recently bought a new video card (6800GT) and was wondering if a CPU upgrade would do anything for me or not. I currently have a 2400mobile running at 2.2GHz. I was thinking of upgrading to the 3400 Clawhammer, but is it a big jump from a 3200xp to a 3400 A64? I currently am using a NF7-S motherboard and was looking to secure one of the new DFI Lan Parties with the nForce3 250 chipset when they come out in a couple of weeks.

I would have to say yes looking at these benchmarks:

Doom3 CPU battle

They are using a 6800Ultra for the review so it should be very close to the scores you would get.
And this is all without Cpu overclocking
