i'm buying a new computer this week, and this is what i came up with:

Antec LanBoy Specialty 350 Watt
Asus P4P800 i865PE
Intel Pentium IV 3,0 GHz 800 Mhz FSB
Dane-Elec 512 MB DDR400 PC3200
Seagate Baracuda 120 GB 7200 RPM
LG CDRW/DVD Combodrive
mitsumi 3,5 inch floppy drive
Logitech z640 5.1 surround speakers
Logitech Cordless optical desktop MX

Now, the only thing i am not shure about is the graphics card..
unlike most people, i'm not choosing between two cards in the same pricerange, but i selected two cards that i feel are good products in their price range, and i'm wondering wich would be wiser: a radeon 9800 Pro 128MB wich costs about 390,- or a geforce 5900 xt wich costs about 200.

the radeon is no doubt the fastest card, but on the other hand: 380 for a freakin videocard is a lot of money. and ofcourse i want to play SOME games, but that will not be a problem with the 5900xt, right...?

or should i just go for it and buy the radeon?..

sugarkang he's probably in Europe (judging from the use of commas instead of periods for decimal points and the use of the Euro symbol in the title), so Newegg isn't going to work for him. I'd go for the FX5900 XT, they seem to usually overclock to or past 5900 Ultra levels.

Of course, cause the title didn't give it away.

Not worth the 200.

I'd get the 5900XT. It overclocks to 5900 and even to 5900 ultra speeds sometimes. Probably best price/performance ratio card in Europe now. 9800pro cards are overpriced.

i'll agree with performance.. but i wouldnt say theyre over priced.. I'd go with a 5900NU, instead of the XT... just my opinion
