Is it worth removing the IHS?

I'm wondering if removing the IHS would increase my overclock any? If not, then screw it, but if theres a chance i can hit 250fsb fully stable by removing it, id surely like to attempt it. Right now im at 233fsb, using a 1.625 vcore, actual is 1.57-1.6v. Thanks in advance.
 
It may, but probably not enough to warrant the risk... One slip, dead processor. I would try lapping the heatsink and processor first. 😉

IHS = Integrated Heat Spreader... it's a piece of metal "glued" to the CPU core to prevent chipping the core when installing the heatsink, but it's been shown to be a little less efficient at transferring heat than if you had the heatsink directly on top of the CPU core.
