Is it worth paintballing with rental guns?

Yeah, let's just say I got really really owned in speedball at the last field I went to in my area... Rental gun could only shoot at max around 6 ppm while others carried guns that shot at least 15 ppm-30 ppm due to their electronic trigger with electronic hoppers and 12'-18' barrels. So I got my butt owned (the gun was a piranha. Only person I shot down was my own sister... No one else. )...

I also got shot by other people when I was walking off the field with my gun high in the friggin air and my other hand too... They thought I was still playing... ......... Just kept shooting and shooting till a ref told em to stop firing at me.

So now this time, I'm invited to go play on a different field, but once again with a rental paintball gun... In the woods though... So is it worth bruising myself over it when I ahve a slim chance of hitting? lol :)

I'm very nub in the world of paintball. ty.

Me and my friends all play with rental guns, but if I were up against someone with a really nice weapon I'd be scared ;)

Bah, weapon means nothing, I've seen 3 guys take down a team of 8 with just pump actions, its all about your skills and tactics. What are you wearing? This isn't such a big deal in speedball but it matters in the woods, you say you are a newb, how long have you been playing exactly?

I just played once for like 7 hours... Ugh... At least I didn't hide behind bunkers waiting to be shot at. More than likely I'll wear some denim jeans with prolly a dark sweatshirt. = Still visible.

I noticed from your profile that you live in Seattle, I used to live in Silverdale and went PB out there several times, where at are you going?

I went to the local GoodWill and picked up some camy's and they worked like a charm, I used a rental my first few times and I had a blast. Having good shoes works too, maybe some old soccer or football cleats to help with traction. Kinda gives you a little more edge when you can move well and not be seen.

If your gun isnt working correctly, like jamming and stuff like that, then ya, its a big difference. But just because it might shoot a little slower than the other guns on the field doesnt mean your doomed for failure.

My first gun was one with an electronic trigger and it would shoot really really fast but was prone to jam, and jam it would, right at the worst times. My next gun was one with a non electronic trigger that would shoot as fast as my finger would move. It didnt shoot as fast as the other one, but was much more reliable on the field and never left me hangin once.

KC Crusaders is the place I plan to go to.

The place that I had my oh fun first time was doodlebugz in their speedball arena.

Just slice the pie for the win.

Don't expose more than your gun, forearms and face when shooting or looking.

If the gun won't hit them at the range you're at, you're too far.

Step 1: Do not buy any paintball guns.

Step 2: Lose the glorified-Nerf-fanboy friends of yours.

Step 3: Buy an airsoft gun.

Step 4: "Play" like a real man.

If you're playing with people that will actually bunker you, it might be more fun to play with the beginner groups. Otherwise, just bunker them back, you can't miss at that range :D

Me and my friends have the same problem, so we just get 10 guys together and call in a private party. It turns out to be 15 bucks a person + about $160 for paint. Not bad for 3 hours private time.

When I went paintballing, we refused to play with these guys who popped up and wanted to use their autos. They promised to sent them to single, but we weren't going with it. If you're not wearing heavy clothing, you can get bruised from single shot weapons. I don't want to deal with getting hit by a spray of paintballs.

As to the rental guns thing: the it's nice to have your own equipment, but here's the problem with rental equipment - you can't hit jack unless you are extremely close range. At least buy an aftermarket barrel you can take on and off the rental gun so you can hit something you're aming for that's more than 5 ft away.

I really good gun just makes things that much easier. I am about an average player but when I used a friends DM6, I just completly mowed down people as if i was shooting ropes of paint at deadly accuracy.

I would prefer only to play with people who use rentals. To me it is more about fun than military execution. I do not really want the full metal jacket experience. Those people who take it so seriously that they have miniguns and mortar launchers kind of spoil the fun. I prefer everyone to be equally idiotic as I am, you know like take their mask off like a moron at least once per session, and also be virtually crippled the next day due to leg muscle pain.
