Just picked up the sapphire x850xt as an upgrade to the 9800 pro. Wow what a difference in FarCry. I have it on an Asrock 939dual sata board with AMD x2 3800+ and a gig of ram. I have read that it is pointless to overclock this card because you won't gain much in FPS per game. Any opinions? If so what speeds do you Overclock? Thanks for the advice.

it is something you should try yourself to see if it is 'worth" it.

Look at the benchmarks and compare the x850xt with the xtPE . . . o/c'ing DOES gain a few FPS but also voids your warranty.

i don't bother o/c'ing mine . . . so far it doesn't struggle with any game at 10x7 . . .

Thanks apoppin,
One question I have is regarding voiding the warranty....How would they know? I certainly wouldn't tell them. Is anyone else overclocking and finding much difference?

I wouldnt worry too much about the warranty. You're not increasing the voltage, and as long as you keep your gpu load temps reasonable (under 80C), then the risk of OC'ing is minimal.
