Is it worth it to upgrade?

I have a system at work a friend wants to purchase. Its a 2.4C at 3.0 on an ABIT IS7-G with 512 of PC3500. The video card is a ATI 9800 and the sound card is a Audigy 2. I just don't know if its worth it to sell it at the current time or wait a few months and then try to sell it. If I upgrade now will I get a real good performance boost without costing me an arm and a leg. I'm not sure what to do, any opinions are welcome.

Id keep it for a while. Wait for BTX, DDR2, PCI express, etc.

that system is way decked out man
unless you can sell it for enough to buy a faster system then i wouldn't bother
