Is it worth it to upgrade....

Currently running an AMD 1700+ @2.2G. Was thinking of going with a Barton 2500+ from newegg for $86 and OCing it to at least (hopefully) 2.2G. Even if I only get 2G out of it, would it be worth the money for the upgrade?

It would seem to me that if you can't get more than 2.2GHz out of it, which is what you already have achieved with the 1700+, then it wouldn't be worth it. Or is it not as simple as GHz vs Ghz?

Dont bother. New 3000+ amd 64 coming out so save ure pennies for that when its cheap.

Not worth it. Both chips at 2.2ghz would perform the same.
