Is it worth it to upgrade to 3200 DDR or should I just stick with 2700?

Looking to slightly upgrade my system (K7S5a, Athlon XP 1600, 768m PC2700) going to throw in a 2400 CPU and another 512m stick to replace my 256er...don't know if it is worth it to get the 3200 instead with a higher cas latency...wondering if for future upgradeability the 3200 is worth the extra expense or if I am better off saving the $10 and getting some cheesburgers with it as when I go to upgrade next I will be buying a new board and CPU...thanks

You'll be fine with PC2700, unless you plan to overclock. PC3200 memory isn't really obsolete, the only reason to get faster than pc3200 is for overclocking. The new DDR2 memory that works with the new intel boards is not faster at this point.

sorry, should have been more specific....if upgrading my cpu and memory does not give me a notable boost in the few applications I am attempting to run well then I will most likely be moving back to an intel based system.

Thanks
