A GF2 Ultra is fast enough for most games with the graphics all turned up. You wont see a different in games that are based on dx7, maybe the newer games on dx8. If you were to get a card get now, get the Radeon 8500. Its less than 200 and its performance is just below that of the GF3 Ti 500. But I would wait until february because the GF4 and R300 are supposed to come out. That should lower the price of the current high end cards, who knows maybe you could get the GF3 Ti 500 for less than $200.

Tricky one, seeing as the Ultra is well over a year old now - I too have one and about a month or two ago got VERY itchy to buy a GF3 of some description. Since then I have run some of the newer games on my system - FIFA 2002, Red Faction, Alien vs Predator 2, Ghost Recon, Battle Realms, Wolfenstein 3D to name some examples - and they all have run GREAT. I have since then decided to leave my system be and perhaps look at the Geforce 4 which is probably closer than you think; or maybe pick up a dirt cheap GF3 in a few months time at least. Sure I could upgrade my card and see 3000 more 3DMark2001 points but other than that the difference is not that great in TODAYS games, and probably the games of the next 6 month period or more.

I agree with the other two posters. Your card is still a very powerful card. In this world of MX400's and Radeon VE's, your card is still a top-of-the-line performer. Even the most modern games will run quite well on your system. With only 3 or 4 months before the 6-month product cycle comes around, buying a card now to replace your already strong performer would be a weaste of money. Wait till the next generation or longer. Hell, even next years games should run pretty well on your card.

I'd recommend staying with the GeForce2 Ultra for now. Its more than plenty fast enough for todays games. :)
Therefore, just save up for the next generation card from nVidia. :D
