IS it worth it to upgrade my notebook processor from 1.7 to 2.4?

Is it worth it? Will I get much better performance?

My lappy is IBM A31P

the features:

1.7 P4M
1 gig ram
60 gig hdd with 5400 rpm (might upgrade to the 7200 one)

I doubt it unless you use your laptop for CPU intensive tasks like media encoding or games. If you do, then yeah, it might be worth it.

well I use the laptop for gaming but not a lot. What makes me want to upgrade the processor is because it's kinda slow when I try to open two apps at the same time. Like for example, ICQ and browser. It takes a while to open it because I can see the harddrive is working on it.

Is it because of the hdd or the cpu?
