Is it worth it to upgrade from an Athlon 64 3200+ to a 3700+?

The Opteron 165 is cheaper than the 3800+, and the 1MB of L2 cache makes up for the 200mhz increase in clock speed anyways, which makes it a better choice than the 3800+. And unless you're too lazy to learn how to overclock, you should. I see no viable reason not to.

Overclocking doesn't mean less stable, nor does it mean louder. But if you're lazy and can't devote an afternoon to getting the maximum performance out of your hardware, then just leave it at stock.
