Is it worth it to upgrade ? 4550 ----> 4600 ?

do you think it's worth the upgrade ?

i already have a 2.4b PIV, would 2.4c make a notable difference ?

it seems as I can get like 400-500 bucks for my system locally so I can definitely use the upgraded video card and the 18.1 flat panel for a total under $1000 ;)

what do you think ?

No.

And 400-500 locally? With a 2.4GHz P4? You aren't looking too hard. I have a VERY modest system (XP1900, 80gb HD, 160gb HD, 256mb RAM, 4x DVD-RW, 32x CDRW, Ti4200) and despite being worth EXACTLY $1000 in parts - I can pull more than $3000 on the local market. But I'm emotionally attached and this thing isn't going anywhere

You're emotionally attached to a computer? One that could make you $2000? (Figure you can take that last $1000 and rebuy the rig ;)).

Price out the parts on Newegg. If you can't get at least that much locally, your locals are either

A) Computer smart
or
B) Trying to "rip you off"

I have a plain vanilla GeForce 3 in my Athlon XP 1800+ box, and I certainly don't think it's worth the upgrade at this point (nor for another year or so). Unless I find a game that I'd really like to play that the GF3 chokes on...

If you don't want to sell yours, how about I send you mine with the exact same setup and we'll split the profit? I want my share upfront tho.
