my plan right now is to wait until SB-E comes out and see if SB drops any and either get SB or splurge on SB-E. i really want to wait for ivy bridge but that was delayed until march right?

SB can push 4 5870's, so unless you need more cpu power than that, just grab a 2500k now. With the crappy release of the new Bulldozer, Intel's prices will not fall.

Id hold out on upgrading til you see AMDs new gpu architecture tbh, or just go with nvidias new architecture or refresh once that is out. I had a great experiance playing BF3 on everything high and some bad stuff off. Looked great and played great on my 460.

with a core 2 duo there is no point in anything faster than what you have now. as happy mentioned, even your single 5870 is being held back.

I'm wondering if it's worth it for me to get a 2nd 6870..

I just upgraded to a 2500k, but I'm hearing all kinds of worrying information about microstuttering. On top of that, I'll be stuck with 1 gig of VRAM for a while as I don't intend on getting another single card solution for two years, if i go with a 2nd 6870.

Can anyone confirm or assuage my fears?
