Is it worth it to buy a Socket 478 motherboard with AGP?

I've been searching for a new motherboard that can support an Intel P4 3.0Eghz CPU. I asked for suggestions here and got a couple suggestions namely Asus P4P800-E Deluxe MSI, Abit IC7 (too bad about the company troubles), and an Asus P4C800-E Deluxe. After doing some extensive research I had my eyes set on the Asus P4C800-E Deluxe, but after reading about video card technologies I am wary about purchasing a motherboard without PCI-E slot.

I saw that there are a few motherboards that have both PCI-E and AGP but I haven't really heard any good things (at least anything that is superb) about them. So the question is whether it is worth to wait for a PCI-e slotted socket 478 or just stay with an AGP socket 478 motherboard.

Do you already have the CPU? If so, then there might be a chipset similar to the ULI M1695 that supports both PCIe and AGP at the same time.
Another question to ask is are you going to upgrade your system in a few years? Or are you just going to build another one.
Btw, I've got both the ASUS P4P800-e Deluxe and the P4C800-e deluxe. Both are awesome boards btw.

I think that's a very good suggestion. The 915P chipset with SATA is a good combination to go with his Socket 478 chip.

Poohbee - if you don't have a video card yet, then I'd recommend that ASUS board (or a similar 915P chipset-equipped board) with a PCI-e card. That way if/when you upgrade in the future, you can move the video card to the new board, since PCI-e is the new video standard.

Thanks for the replies everybody.

I already have the CPU but don't have the videocard yet. I do plan to upgrade eventually in the future and don't want to get stuck buying another motherboard because either the AGP or PCI slots is no longer supported. Basically what I want to get is a motherboard that will last a long time (2-5 years).. I'm probably asking too much. hehehe =)

How is the Asus P4GD1 with overclocking and stability?

Thank you again for all your help.

Edit: I just did a search and unfortunately the Asus P4GD1 is not sold in the United States (Checked Froogle, pricewatch, Newegg)=(
