Is it worth getting a 6950 now?

Is the 6950 the best card in its price range? And is this the right time to get it?

I currently have a 9800gt 512mb and the 2500k.
 
The 7000 series should be out relatively soon. May as well wait another month or two to either get the 6950 for cheaper or the equivalently priced 7000 series card.
 
I think AMD stated that new videocards will be out this year. Everything apart from that is speculation. Of course, AMD has and will continue to have multiple products so their statement doesn't necessarily mean that the entire line will be replaced by the end of the year.
