I'm putting together new system based on amd x2 4400.
I will use 64 bit windows. Now my question is is it worth adding extra 2gb of ram?
Will it help working with photoshop and 3dsmax in anyway or games? Or it's not worth it before any of this software be 64 bits?
3D rendering applications such as maya and 3D Studio Max WILL benifit from 4GB of RAM, though I see no other tangible reasons. For games and photoshop, 2GB is the sweet spot.
Chances are slim that you're considering rare 2GB modules, n'est ce pas? In which case the decision hardly benefits from being made before trying the system with two 1GB modules. If your usage peaks well beyond that with sufficient regularity to warrant increased capacity then you slap in 'nutha two of same. Critical thinking FTW.
