is it worth fixing an old panasonic tv these days?

I just found a panasonic prism 27" tv outside (kudos to the stranger who got rid of it in toronto) and it works - except the picture is shifted to the bottom left.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the picture centered again, nothing in the menu which is odd...

is there any point in lugging this thing down to a tv repair shop? or should I just pitch it?

the problem is that there is no model number on the damn thing (I've scoured it) and I don't know which to even begin looking at on Panasonic's site... very frustrating

From the sound of it he needs a manual adjustment. I assume this is a CRT.

Move this to the AV forum for more info.

OP - your model number should be listed on the rear of the set.

Just find a local TV repair place. Can probably fix it for $25 or so. My sister just got a 2 year old JVC flat screen, rear projection TV fixed for $200. Was a couple grand a couple years ago when the guy bought it but he was sick of it since it broke.

..parts are a problem these days. mfgr's don't make spares like they did in the old days. Too often it's cheaper to get a new set rather then fiddle around trying to get non oem parts that may not work or only last a short while. I tried to get a flyback for a 20" sony and it was no longer avail. the sony was aprox 7 years old.
