Is it worth Cashing these checks?

I got 2 checks from both of my credit cards Citibank and a Wells Fargo Bank card

Both mailed me a check worth $15 and basicly saying you will be enrolled in our credit protection program if you cash the check and you can cancel after the 30 day trial.

Has anyone deposited these checks? And was it a pain in A to cancel from the program?

Just wanting to know if its worh it becuase if its not then thats a free $30 in my pocket.

I wouldn't, unless $30 is a big deal to you. I imagine they will make it a hassle to cancel, and these credit protection programs are a huge scam, in that they really only offer a "protection" that is already built in to every reputable credit card anyway. They are an even bigger scam than extended warranties for electronics.

The only reason they even offer these kinds of checks is that many people will be lazy enough not to cancel until the "protection" has become lucrative for the CC companies.

Cash 'em and then cancel. Call on a Sunday morning when you'll be talking to bored teenagers who won't care enough to give you a hard time.

Or, cash 'em, send me the $30 by Paypal, and I'll call to cancel for you.

Nope, I rather not bother with the cancellation process. They haggle and try to get you to stay when all you want to do is quit.

$15! My CC only gave me a check for $2.50 for the same kind of thing. Even though it was really tempting, I still dropped it into my shredder.
