Hi Folks,

I just wanted to know, ppl who own a AMD R270X GPU and playibng current games on 1920x1024 resolution, are you satisfied with the FPS you get with high settings.

Is it worth to purchase R270X for HD gaming??

Its cheap and yet a better card than any of the Nvidia's offerings in its range.

you mean for 1080p? Yea its a good card for that; if that's the best in your price range you won't be disappointed in those cards.

I have a sapphire 270 overclocked to 270x speeds and sometimes even more if I don't mind the fan noise. I play at that 1920*1080 and my weakest link so far is my 2400 cpu. I only use 2xaa so I'm not that demanding on the card.

The 270X is a decent card for playing in the 1080p range, yes. A few games may drop below 30 frames per second with all settings maxed out, but you should be able to turn on all the eye candy in most games.

Just watch the price, miners have driven up the cost of AMD cards substantially.
The benchmark section isn't the most accurate but once you have a few ideas in place its easy to compare their game performance based on cost.

Yea, that card should be good for your resolution. As someone else said though, be careful of the price. AMD cards are inflated now due to the mining craze.

I would also consider the GTX 660. It would be a bit slower, but is older now are some good deals are starting to show up.

Right now on new egg, the 270x is ranging from 250 to 300 dollars, while the cheapest GTX660 is 190.00. I think the GTX660 is adequate, so it comes down to do you want to save some bucks or get a stronger and more future proof card.

Personally, since I am relatively undemanding graphically, I would go with the 660, but if you can get a decent price the 270x is also a good choice.

What country are you in? In Canada, the 270X is well beyond its ideal price range, a GTX760 is a better card and is the same price range, or a 770 for a little more (~$30). Or find a 270 (non-X) and find out how to overclock it.

I am from India, and here the R270X is cheaper than GTX 760.

Well, thanks guys.
