Is it worth $40 more to get a 1.GHz TBird tested at 1.33?

Particularly if I don't plan on overclocking immediately when I first get it?

I'm just wondering what people's stances are on this. I was going to get an OEM 1Gig at NewEgg, but they're currently sold out, but other places have some pretested AXIAs for about $40 more than NewEgg wants for their regular OEM. Of course, with NewEgg you don't even know if you're getting an AXIA or not.

Ugh, I'm so conflicted!!! 🙂 What do people think?

well, tested means it was done on their machines with their specs. but perhaps the warranty would be better because they "guarantee" it to be run OUT OF SPEC. i am not sure though. i would just go to a computer show and buy an AXIA and run it in your system as many systems differ.

Since AMD is only making the newer AXIA and AVIA cores for the T-Birds, you have a pretty good chance of getting one of these cores from stores like Newegg. Since Newegg sells out their stock regularly, they get fresh processors from AMD all the time.
