so I"ve been with this company for a year, and I have applied to some other positions within my company. As of now, I have 3 that are pending consideration(all are related to eachother and related to what I do now).

I have found position on my company webiste that I want to apply for, but the thing is that, it is not related to what I do now or the the 3 pending jobs. it has a higher salary and actually sounds interesting.

If you are my manager, and you see that I am apply for 3 different positions + 1 that is not related at all within the company, does that turn you off? Does it make you think that I am just applying because of the salary since I have not done anything related to the 4th position?? Does it make me seem like I am just applying for whatever randomly and pointlessly?

I work for a large international corp. that doesn't frown upon applying to other internal positions. Due to extensive training, however, my department usually doesn't allow you to apply unless you have spent 18 months in our department.
I guess it varies department to department even within a company. I know we have employees who have left for other internal (and maybe even external) positions that have been welcomed back.

Yes. Nothing wrong with applying for another position that seems interesting or a good fit for you. Nothing wrong with applying for a position where you earn more. Applying for a bunch of jobs like that makes it seem like you're just looking for something --- anything --- to get out of where you currently are.
