Is it weird that I just cried because my toddler kid is turning to a child?

I don't know what's gotten into me. But I legit cried. She's growing too fast with these now stalky-ass limbs. She's getting too smart and clever.

I will miss singing lullaby to her and her excitedly yelling backing few word she recognizes.
I will miss her falling asleep in my arms and I'd kiss her entire face.
I will miss her yelling "daddy where are you?" the first moment she wakes up each morning.
I will miss her brightly smiling at me every time. After feeding and tossing her in the air, after hugging her after she runs to me, watching sunsets while I hold her in my left arm and record with the other.

I feel like I'm going through a literal heart break. I'd like to think I'm a pretty even facking grounded person. But having my kids just utterly shook my core to something else.

Again, I'm not a dramatic person - but this pain/ache feels EXACTLY familiar to a heartbreak.

Even going through it, I knew I'd miss the 'hard' times. I'd miss the very hard labor of holding my baby in the carriage for hours because she was struck with a nasty virus. Oh I'd pay top dollar to hold her like that again.

WTF is wrong with me??

Depends on what you've been smoking tonight.

As for me, I did feel much sadness as my kids became too old to get the free kid's meals at restaurants. Time goes by so fast.

I don't miss any of that shit. I laugh when funny things happen, but when there is a task to do like putting her down to sleep it's simply a chore.

Being a parent, the greatest, happiest, saddest thing ever. My two year old is growing up so fast and brings me similar feelings.

QFT, 17 y.o. bottomless pit.

Zeze, no one said you had to stop singing to them. I still sing to mine riding down the road. Captive audiences are the best. :D

Yea just checking into say this wasn't some one-off thing. All my feelings are still valid today.

I don't have experience with having children, but I was one. Zeze, get ready for when they become a teen and they suddenly start to hate you. Just don't forget what it was like for you at that age and you'll be fine, if you went through that stage.

Yeah, I understand what you are going through. I always want to record the fun things my toddler does, but as soon as the camera comes out, she stops. I should probably just get a cam for the living room.

As she transitions out of being an infant you are blossoming into being a woman. All things change in time.
Don't let this guy get you down, Zeze. There's nothing wrong with a man blossoming into a woman! :D

I don't know... my daughter just turned 5, and I kinda like doing "kid stuff" with her like going out for ice cream or building stuff with Legos. It's not better or worse... just different.

I wouldn't call it weird but it is definitely weird that you posted about it here. I'm sure there is a sewing forum somewhere where this type of post will fit right in.

She's trying that on me as well. I find that "no", and "go ask your mom" are good responses to the more insane demands, like 2 cookies for breakfast.
Well that doesn't seem like an insane request at all. Well, unless 3 cookies was the other option.
