HAHAHAH no

eating less JUNK food is key but I eat like crap sometimes and I'm fit as I ever was. I don't work out but I stay active. But I also keep my video game skills up.

Diet pills are more placebos than anything. Eat well, eat OFTEN with smaller serving sizes and get your ass out going cardio.

If you do it right (mostly aerobic exercises, not much weightlifting), you WILL lose weight. But if you lift weights and do strength training, you'll likely gain muscle mass.

BTW, what's wrong with gaining weight if it's good (read: muscle) weight? Why is it so important to you to lose weight?

Well, it may make you gain weight, since muscle is 3 times as dense as fat, so if you put on muscle by exercise, you will put on weight.

the above two people are correct. Muscle weighs more so weight is not the best measurement of fitness.

its not working for me, i have been exercising for 2 weeks, havent lost a single lbs. it could be that I am not eatting less? I just do jogging, bicycling and not much else. since all the weight is mostly on my tummy, some sit up maybe key to losing 20 lbs? yes my stomach is very weak, could only do about 30 situp, sad right?

What are you eating?

Again. Why is it so important for you to lose weight? If you're able to run longer, and bike further than you were able to when you first started, then you're obviously improving your fitness level. And that's what is important...not some arbitrary measurment like weight.

If you keep it up, you WILL look better because you'll be more muscular. Don't quit just because you don't see any weight-based results. Think of all the good you're doing for your cardiovascular system.

You have to work real, real hard to have 1/3 as much muscle as much fat you want to get rid of.

Gain weight? Possibly. I'm getting back into my weight lifting. All I'm managing to do is pack on more pounds, though. I'm burning the fat off, but I'm also building the muscle, which weighs more than fat does. Grr... dammit.

Cur, if you want I can give you very explicit directions for losing weight that I can guarantee will work.

The hard part is following them

Also, stop eating until you can't eat anymore. That, to me, is your main problem. You need to eat small meals (3-4 of them a day) with foods like eggs, whole grains, TONS of vegetables and fruit, pasta, dairy, and legumes (barley, nuts, etc.).

Actually from my experience you don't gain the same amount of muscle for the fat you lose.
So you don;t just keep gaining weight.

What happens to most people when they start exercising you start by putting on some weight from
the initial muscle built. However after time, the exercising starts to burn the excess fat. And then you
start lossing the weight again.

Now this assumes you are not weight training, but the goal of weight training isn't to lose weight.

Do you actually believe this is true?
exercising is no easy task, one needs a strong will to do so. I am very lazy and think exercising was pointless in the first place, thats why I am obese today and think too much about everything in life. have been on depression for a year, and would like to get out of it.. lazyness may kill you sooner then you realize. i met some really old folks of about 70 yrs old,is still working, says that staying home because of retirement is not too healthy for them or anyone for that matter.
