I know that some food you feed them make them gassy but I don't think it's the case with my dog. She would farts. I mean really farts, you can hear it audibly & sounds like a person farting . That's how loud it is. Everytime she farts, she would jumped up and looked guilty (and gave me the WTF was that look) and then walk towards me & hide under the computer desk.

And once she farts, she'll continue farting for the next hour at various time intervals (5-10 minutes apart)

I seriously doubt it's the food because she also burps a lot in the morning.

Fucking weirdest dog i've ever had.

My dog had the worst stinky gas when we got him from the shelter. It turns out that he had giardia. A little while on some meds and he got much better.

It can be a bad sign, of digestion issues, etc..
I know of a family that had a pet die after being diagnosed with something (can't recall what), basically was farting all the time and they had the vet do some tests..

Might want to get her checked just to be safe..

Change her diet. Or stick to it. ;)

If you're concerned about the dog, farting is a symptom, not the problem.

Our 6lb dog is truly offended by farts. She looks like she's seen satan and walks away with her tail between her legs. She doesn't usually mind the smell, but when she hears them its time to head for the hills. Funniest thing.

I'm guessing crap then.

If you're just getting the cheapest stuff he might get some pretty bad digestive issues. You'd fart and burp like crazy too if you only ate microwave burritos and ramen, the same goes for your dog. You feed it crap and it will have problems.

I've seen a lot of dogs that farted all the time but my sister-in-law had a cat that could consistantly clear a room out.

Dogs can get IBS too and many lack certain digestive enzymes just like people (lactose intolerant, wheat intolerant, etc).

That said, my baby sitters got a black poodle back in the Eighties and my twin brother and I always got blamed for its farts. Believe it or not, but its name was "Pepe." Of course, we called him "Pepe Le Pew."

Loud and smell-less is waaay better than silent but deadly...I never heard my dog fart, but it was pretty damn nasty when she did

get her raised food bowls. that should help.

our dogs ate out of raised food bowls and drank out of a huge bowl on the ground. they farted every night and it was HORRENDOUS (italian mastiff and a great dane... imagine how much gas that was). anyway, we decided to try getting rid of the bowl on the ground and just fill one of the food bowls with water (it wasn't being occupied by anything... the dogs just liked having a huge bowl so the raised one didn't get any use).

anyways, they stopped farting. it regulated how much air they were each taking in while they were eating and drinking... especially drinking. they had to work harder to drink because the bowl was so low, so they took in more air, which caused the gas.

don't change her food unless it constantly causes her to have diarrhea. if her poops are solid, stick with it.

This, do NOT change it unless you're prepared to deal with some nasty poo for the next week or two. While quality can be a factor - chances are there's something else causing it.

Also, I know my SILs Boston Terrier has bad gas, and she looks around like she's the one who never did it. Before I found out I was lactose intolerant, I would blame it on the dog
