is it true in latin american countries you don't flush your toilet paper?

Hum... We dont flush toilet paper here its considered garbage as you said... but I guess it depends on the house, Ive seen people that flush paper while others dont (europe, portugal)

I traveled in several cities in Mexico where you threw away the TP, but did flush. It did not smell. The sewer system not being able to handle it was the explanation I was given.

I heard Canadians don't have toothbrushes. They use their fingers.

they will have a special garbage just for TP next to toilets. These are emptied frequently through out the day. Also they will use those butt sprayer things some times. which reduces the need for tp.

This is true. Some older areas cannot handle the toilet paper being flushed (or at least that's what I've been told), so they throw TP in the trash. I always flush it anyway. I just can't stomach putting it in the trash.

I'll feel sorry for the cleaning people when I visit one of these restrooms and I get one of those sticky, gooey turds that don't break off cleanly and I have to use two rolls of paper to scrape off all the goo.

In Greece, you're not suppose to throw anything into the toilet. Every bathroom stall has a small, lidded trashcan for used toilet paper.

As long as you are quick to dispense it, there are no issues with smell or hygiene.

Now you could get turned on if you have some sort of wicked scat fetish and like to lift trashcan lids to look at dirty poo rags.

Not everywhere in Greece, didn't run into it once in Athens or Piraeus.

That does seem to be the case on the Islands though.

The 3 seashells are far more efficient, and produce less waste. I just always have a hard time getting them into position.

i used to manage a screen shop full of immigrant workers. we had to have monthly meetings about indoor plumbing, and why we didnt throw used TP in the trash or the corner of the bathroom. it was common practice with a lot of our employees, which were from the mountain towns in mexico or central american countries. used to piss me off walking into the bathroom and seeing that.
