is it true antenna towers cause cancer and other evil things?

Do you ever use cell phones? If you combine all the time you've ever had a cell phone to your ear or holstered to your hip, you have a far greater chance getting cancer from em radiation locally than you do from the cell towers.

Can anyone help with some information and reliable sources?

I asked our agent about this and he said a trade publication pretty much dismissed it. He also said the housing bubble will never burst because god stopped making land 2000 years ago. You decide.

My advice: People that will buy your house one day will say the same thing. Even if it's an urband legend, you will be left with a home that is a pin in the rear to sell.

My advice ... DO NOT BUY IT! The people that will buy it from you one day will be asking themselves the same question.

The power is regulated by the FCC and hence the sites suck since the good old analog days. We can only pump out maybe 45watts per radio (and how much does a radio station pump out 50,000watts!!!) and most of that is lost on the way to tthe top of the tower, depending on the length of the run, antenna type, coax size and specs, etc etc.. we are lucky to get maybe 10-15watts out. FCC requires you to be at least 4 feet away when transmitting so your house beats that by a good bit. By the time the radiated power gets to the top and spreads out all over you really dont have much. I'd really be worried about your 1000watt microwave as it can burn things up I have never seen anything cook next to a cell site antenna.

I'd have to say your safe. Maybe if you want you can bring a geiger counter with you and check it out hehe or maybe an RF badge to show you when you have been exposed to too much radiation then you will know when to run for your deep underground bunker or shack up with the folks in NORAD.

Pete

And how many channels?

evil things? what evil things? just like talking on a cellphone close to your head a lot is bad, an antenna tower that magnifies the effect is not so good either. can't you complian or something? unless the property is government propery or belongs to the cellphone company, it's illegal for private people to have tower in their property.

FCC requirements don't mean jack. Come on, we all know there are a billion harmful things around here, and I can guarantee you they haven't tested living next to a cell site for 30 years...

It's not exactly the best thing in the world.

Are your chacnes for cancer higher? Sure

Is it gonna kill you tomorrow? Probably not.

Are you going to notice the difference? Maybe, maybe not.

Would I live there if I had a choice? No.

Not if they don't sell it for like 20-30 years...cell phone technology will more than liley either be obsolete, or have moved on to things better than microwave transmission.

i am currently working as a nuclear engineer, trust me, i know what CAUSE cancer.

Of course the waves produced by a candle has thermal effects. If you don't think so just go stick your hand over it.

Oh please. Everyone knows that cellphone towers are actually for purposes of mind control. That's why every neighborhood needs one nearby.

Cell Phones, AM/FM radio, TV's, Sattelite Dishes, Microwave Ovens, Power lines... they all have the same minimal ability to cause cancer.

Well they do let out big amounts of radiation but it probably is not enough to cause cancer in most people.

Of course heavy cell phone users will tell you that there is no way just because they are biased and don't want to belive that maybe there is a possibility.
