Is it true about 7900GTs?

i hear of the 512mb 7900GTX locking up during games but now i just recently heard the the 7900GT also locks up, is it true?
I was planning on getting dual 7900GTs but now im questioning it, if this is true should i just get a 256MB ATI RADEON? X1800 XL w/ Avivo? Technology - DVI Dual Link Supported?
 
I heard that it is possible that the 7900gt will lock up, but only if you have it oc'ed, factory, or vmod. If it is at stock speeds (450, 1370 I believe) then I'm not aware of any problems. If you don't decide on the 7900gt's, the x1800xl is a great choice for $190. I think that it would be a big downgrade from a proposed sli setup to that. My suggestion is thus: if you go ATI, get a $330 x1900xt @ newegg. Here's the link.
