I've dreamed of becoming a boyscout ever since I was 3 years old. Now that i'm a young, educated, financially secure, and healthy 26 years old, I think its time for me to realize that dream. But is it too late for that?

It's 18, not 21, I'm pretty sure. At least, that's the latest you can get your Eagle. After that, you can be like an Assistant Scoutmaster or something like that.

Either way, though, if you're 26, it's not possible to actually be a Boy Scout.

Look into "Explorers". Its Boyscouts but no age limit and official sanctioned by BSA. Not to mention it consists of more of the fun stuff (white river rafting) and less of the not-so-fun stuff (economics merit badge).

Edit: Searched for it on the BSA website (www.scouting.org) They don't mention it anywhere. But googling finds other sources that mention Explorers being related to BSA, so it does exist. Not quite sure where. I know in my region (South Surbia Chicago) there's at least 1 explorer troop.
