Okay I haven't bought an Xbox game since last spring when I got Tony Hawk 3. When I bought the xbox I got it with Halo. So far I haven't seen a single game afterwards that looks worth buying. Nothing like Vice City on the PS2. I'm not a big fan of sports games so it rules that out. I see people in FS/FT looking for Xbox for PS2 trades all the time and I'm considering jumping on one of them. What should I do?
is it time to dump the xbox and join the ps2 fanboys?

I've never played the X-Box, but I bought the PS2 because it had the type of games I was looking for whereas the X-Box didn't.
I'd say if you're not happy with the game selection on X-Box, go with the PS2.

Online gaming on xbox looks to be a powerhouse if it works as well as they say it's going to. Then you've got Splinter Cell coming out this month (I think) along with MGS2:Substance and PD

Well, considering it hasn't even been announced, and that the ps2 is selling just fine (and continuing to outsell the xbox/gamecube), you've got all the development time for it (I dunno, 2 years?) plus at least a 6 month lead in Japan before it gets released here in the states
I wouldn't expect PS3 till late 2004/early 2005...these things usually have a 5 year lifespan.

You're going to dump the Xbox because of one particular game on the PS2? Can't you just rent the system/game or borrow it from a friend if you want to play it so bad?
What about UC, Splinter Cell, Deathrow, Ghost Recon, Mech Assault? There are some great Xbox titles coming out in November. I guess I really don't see it as a problem since I can get my buddy's PS2 whenever I feel like playing a "PS2 exclusive."

It just seems like the next big bad ass game is COMING for the xbox, then when it gets here it turns out to be a huge disappointment. Maybe I'll give the Xbox a little longer.
what about halo 2? and whats the big deal with GTA? i remember playing the original on the PC and it was fun. I played GTA3 on the PC and wasn't really that impressed. i just don't get what all the hype is about...i played the first level or whatever for awhile and got bored with it. heh, i think i'll go dig out the orginal now
do it if you want to but there are plenty of great games out there for xbox you just havent looked. some really cool upcoming ones like splinter cell should be awsome.
Well I bought it when it first came out since Halo was rated so highly...and I enjoyed it for a while...now its just gotten old.
The problem is all the good Xbox games come on PC eventually...just seems completely pointless if the Xbox exclusives are not good enough.

Hang on to it. Yes PS2 has a lot of good games but MS has been pumping a lot of money into development and I expect some good things in the near future.

Thats what I'm waiting for, and I can waitthats a good point but most of the good PS2 games eventually come to PC as well. In fact PC is your best bet in my opinion ( I just have my roomies buy the consoles

I can also say most of the game are playable on PC that will be part of live. Ghost Recon, Unreal but there will be others. Final Fantasy Online, and various others.
I am not here to talk trash about Playstation 2, Playstation Online can be better but its not where it should be at the moment.
Graphic wise playstation 2 simply cannot compare, then again xbox did come later.

Right now its just the hype for GTA, wait two weeks and you will be seeing the same with XBOX. I would say wait until the end of the year and then see if the ps2 is really that desirable still but of course that is just my opinion
