A post in another thread suggested plastering the Bush "we can't win this war" quote everywhere. I think it's time for the Democrats to fight fire with fire. Let's get an interview with that guy who said he's ashamed he helped Bush get into the national guard. Let's show pics of that lawyer who helped the swift liars and then show him hanging out with Bush. Basically, let's show Bush as the coke-sniffing AWOLer he really is.

Thoughts?

PS Republicans and neocons: I don't care what you think. Thanks.

Nah.

I truly believe that integrity is more important than trying to beat them at their own game. We said we wouldn't, so we won't.

And frankly, if America WANTS what is clearly a corrupt and twisted administration, then I want to know what the average American stands for. If that's what Americans stand for... I need to rethink my future. My family came here 100 years ago, and maybe it's time to leave.

<---not the average American

What gave you the idea that the Democrats have been campaigning "clean" up to this point?

PS Republicans and neocons: I don't care what you think. Thanks.
My point.

Errrr, Vic, in case you didn't realize it I'm not part of the DNC campaign. I haven't produced any commercials or anything like that. So you have no point. This thread isn't about me, it's about the official DNC campaign. Try and follow along.

Republicans manifest the repressed rage of being bent by authoritarian parents and liberals manifest the rage of being bent by authoritarian parents. Because of that the Democrats can never match the Republicans in hate.

The ads have been cleaner so far as gross misrepresentations (Kerry wants to raise my taxes by 9 billion dollars the moment he steps into office? Wow! I don't need to research such a claim because it was on the TeeVee. Plus he wants soldiers to die.)

PS Republicans and neocons: I don't care what you think. Thanks.

..that Infohawk represents the entire left?

Question: How many police officers were beat unconscious and sent to the hospital at the DNC vs. the RNC?

It seems like one worry on the part of the Democrats is that people will be turned off by it. I think the swift boat tragedy shows Americans are willing to lap up the negativity. One more reason to go for it.

And though only the neocons seem to have problems with the poll question, I'll just clarify that I'm talking about the official Kerry campaign and maybe some closely related organizations. But Al Franken writing a book is not part of the campaign for purposes of this poll.

Has that happened? I haven't read any reporting on that, and you've piqued my interest. Do you have a source?

You're not referring to the 1968 convention, are you?

No, let's beat them on the issues. I will say I know a lot of people that are tired of taking the "high road" and are ready to atart the mudslinging. I have slung some mud myself, but it has been "defensive" mud and actually based on the truth.

A New York plainclothes police detective was in stable condition Tuesday after being beaten unconscious during a Monday night demonstration near Madison Square Garden, a police spokesman said. Detective Noel Waters said the incident occurred near the end of a demonstration for Poor People's Economic Human Rights, which began with a rally of several thousand outside the United Nations. No arrests have been made in the beating of Detective William Sample.

Here's a thought (and yes, I said the same thing about the swift boat ads): let the past die and focus on the real issues. Vietnam is not an issue in this war. Neither is Bush and coke.

alchemize , that's off topic and has nothing to do with the tactics of campaigning. One incident does not represent a whole party or the half million protesters. It was a criminal act, it wasn't politics.

LOL unless it was a republican, then you'd be on it like white on rice.

Show me my post where I picked one lunitic and suggested it represent a larger group. Did I reply to that thread about the gay congressman and say all Republicans are gay? You stoop to that level and embarass your cause.

I think that there was so much noise about the dirty tricks 4 years ago that people are somewhat more aware of them now. I look to see the Kerry campaign keep to the high road and let Bush hang himself with his dirty tactics.

Hey look another shining example of the left!

There will be more of this, mark my words. The left is more than happy to resort to violence.

Must I dig up every religion/redneck/white trash thread you've ever posted? You generalize more than any poster I've seen, right or left.

Here, this took me about 8 seconds:

Alchemize, please try to distinguish between the Kerry campaign and the left. I know you are taught to lump groups and ideas together in black and white categories and to condemn them 100% but try... This thread is about the official Democratic campaign. Not communists in cuba. Not rioters at conventions. Not even Michael Moore (gasp!). I'm talking about the official Democratic campaign here.
