No. I liked the movies that I saw Billy Madison, Big Daddy, Happy Gilmore, Mr Deeds...though never saw the cartoon one, looked silly... I really liked him in The Wedding Singer and also Meet The Parents.
I'm looking forward to his new movie with Adam Sandler & Jack Nicholson, "Anger Management".

He wasn't in Meet the Parents - you're thinking of Ben Stiller

Yeah he needs to stop hiring his best friends to write and direct his movies. :disgust:

Has any one seen that last movie Adam did, that was a love story. Critics seemed to like his acting there. What was it's name?
Where he was the rich guy? Argh I can't remember. Very forgettable movie. Utter crap.

No, it was a serious role; "Punch Drunk Love."

What? I think he's talking about Mr. Deeds..

No, Punch Drunk Love is the the love story movie where he earned critical acclaim.

Sandler would have NEVER earned any praise for his acting abilities in any of his other movies.

Punch Drunk Love was one of the crappiest movies ever. After an hour of sitting in that theater I walked out, and was offered a refund on the way out. I didn't turn it down.

He used to be funny. Billy madison was funny. Happy gilmore was hilarious. The tape with tollbooth willy on it was freaking awesome. But now all his movies are the same. Big daddy was crap. The last one where he was rich was...you guessed it...crap. And his new one looks like just an excuse for him to do his ever-so-tired "I'm adam sandler and I'm so angry and overreacting" thing. He needs to be put to sleep already. 🙁

A little OT, but you really are becomming a bit of an Avtar Whore. What happened to the little grey dude?

he got deported by the INS.

hopefully sandler has just slumped lately, he was brilliant earlier in his career and flashes of it reemerged in his later stuff. but it's true, his friends do at least write most of his movies... it seems they've gotten fat and lazy.

I have a confession to make.

I bought Little Nicky on DVD when it came out cause it had a hidden special feature on it which was the first LOTR trailer in dolby 5.1.

Eventually I just ripped it without compressing it and sold the DVD. I was quite ashamed when I went to the cashier with it. I bought another DVD to put on top of it so no one would see it when i set it on the counter.

Jesus what a horrible movie.

Ah, the things a lotr fan will do 🙁

Billy Madison
Happy Gilmore
Punch Drunk Love
Water Boy
Wedding Singer --- they were all great. Big Daddy was alright too. I can't wait for his new movie.

Sandler has never been funny at any point in his career. We laugh at the French for worshipping Jerry Lewis, but Sandler is 100 times worse.

I liked "The Waterboy" and "Little Nicky". I would not blame "his writers" because he is the one is who choosing his scripts. Or at least I hope he can choose his scripts.

The only Sandler movie I won't watch is 8 Crazy Nights. Everything else was at least decent. I thought Punch-Drunk Love should have won some kind of award for lighting/cinematography and maybe sound

I liked Mr Deeds... but then I think it might be because of an inexplicable attraction I have toward Wynona Ryder... 😉

I totally agree! I went to see punch drunk love with 4 of my friends... all of us hated it, wondering if we had just really wasted the last 2 hours of our lives. It wasn't funny, it wasn't romantic, it was just plan stupid, and alot of it disn't make a whole lot of sense. I think he directed it himself, and that was the problem, he wanted to be serious, be he's so tryped cast it's hard to see him that way.

Punch Drunk Love was one of the crappiest movies ever. After an hour of sitting in that theater I walked out, and was offered a refund on the way out. I didn't turn it down.

The problem with adam sandler is that he is typcast as the guy who screams and yells and acts like an ass... whether or not this is the only thing he actually can do is a matter of opinion. I would say that's just about all he can do. heh heh.
But his earlier stuff was pretty funny. i think everyone is just tired of his same old same old crap. 99% of his movies, he acts like a dufus with a speech impediment, as he did on SNL. The guy is not very original!

Did anyone see Punch Drunk Love? I was kind of curious to see how his acting would be in a serious movie. I definately think the worst movie he has been in has got to be 8 crazy nights, just plain old animated crap.

Whether you like Punch-Drunk Love depends on your tastes. For some reason itt reminds me of a cross between Magnolia and Being John Malkovich. I dug it a lot but then again P.T. Anderson is one of my favorite directors. People who say it's the crappiest movie ever must not watch a lot of movies, or at least a variety of them.

retire? i thought he should have never began his career. dun understand how he made it so big. I don't think he's funny.
