Recently I have noticed when I launch a game the previous game image is will show first then the game will launch I.E. if i start WoW and I was playing Sins then the last image from sins will show then Wow will start if I reboot the issuse goes away. What is going on is this card dieing after only 1 year? I don't OC and I keep an eye on temps via the Ati panel.

I've noticed a few weird clears with my crossfired 4870s. Not exact images like you describe but leftover junk. Maybe they optimized out a few unnecessary clears/frees in the drivers that were, necessary.

It looks like the game data is still in memory so when the card goes from 2-d to 3-d it is displaying the last 3-d image

As long as the previous game image doesn't stay on the screen while you play the new one, I won't worry about it.

I.e. Play batman, then play WoW, and log in while seeing Joker laughing at you, still.
