Ok so many people are saying that there are gonna be new games and new card therefore making all the previous models in Graphic Card fall down in price........now that i have bought the Abit IP35 Pro board it becomes a must to get a graphic card.....now i am wondering should i just go with a cheap $90 or less card and wait till the gud ones become less or go 4 a card below $200 (my budget) and forget about upgrade......because my initial plan is to build my rig and forget abt upgrading for the next 3-5 years.......a simple rig with Abit IP35 PRo Board......Q6600......2GB Ram....1Burner...1HDD.....

Latest rumors are that there will be 2 new graphics cards this fall from NV being G92 (upper mid-range card between 8600GTS and 8800GTS with 256-bit memory interface and 512mb of ram) and G90 (high end probably $400+).

So unless you plan on getting a G90, there is no reason for waiting if your budget is only $200.

Your options are really X1950Pro for $130, X1950XT 256mb for $170 and if you can stretch it 8800GTS 320mb for $260. 8800GTS 320mb is for the most part as fast as the $350 640mb version but is inferior in situations where large texture sizes stress its memory (like 1920x1200 and above). If you really do plan to keep your card for 3-5 years, it's the only one worth going for since without AA, it'll last a lot longer given the GPU power - Benchmarks

Like RS said, unless you want to wait a long time (like beyond this year) just get a $200 card now, maybe stretch the budget for a 8800GTS like RS said.

I'm waiting for the G90s to come in, thereby dropping the price on the 8800GTXs. My 7950GT is doing fine until then. If you need to buy something now, you could always go by this article, just posted this week over at Tom's Hardware.

When are these new cards supposed to come out anyway? I want at least 512mb and I will not spend over $250. I have no choice really unless I were to buy an older card.

well i think i will just buy a cheap ### card and upgrade later when the prices fall down.... and i think i will wait n see and maybe i will spend $250~$300 for a really decent card.....
