Is it supposed to be hard to replace a power supply?

I'm trying to replace an AT power supply in my PC. I didn't think it was going to be hard until I ran into this problem where the switch (with the brown, blue, black, and white wires) doesn't match. I assume that I have to take the wires off the new and old switch and plug them back it. Is there an easy way to do this? The wires slide in and out, but seem to be locked in by a circular indent in the metal, so I can't get them out.

Who's done this before???

Depending on how annoying the cables on the switch are being, it's usually easier to just replace the old switch from the front of the case and put the new one in. How do you mean they don't match? Do you have one of those cases that use the smaller type of AT switch?

i have done it several times, and it is easy. basically you just need some "brute force" to separate the switch from the 4 lines, and then plug in the new lines.

[Edit] by force i mean a lbit more force, don't use all your energy at once, you will end up tearing the wire apart[/Edit]
