its okay, he'll have to make one when his Gm dies =)
he'll also need to make one when he decides to sell his Gm and buy a new car because its worth near nothing. as i can sell off mine and buy a new one with much less money than him =)

+ i paid cash so no car payments here

Guess what? Hondas die to. Friend of mine was victim of Honda's super retarded timing belt. Belt broke, valves meet cylinder. And yes, the belt was replaced according to schedule.

Also, yeah while your car may have higher resale, it also costs more in the first place 😉 so if you have a car with lower resale but costs less to buy you're not really behind 😛

yes, brakes are allowed to smoke. and they will still stop your car. and after smoking, they will stop your car the next day also, then the next.

no honda didn't give me anything except 3 great cars in the last 23 years that i've had one in the family.

If your brakes smoke YOU ARE BEING TOO HARD ON THEM. They are not supposed to smoke, except maybe a little when you first break them in but THAT'S IT.

By the way, this guy I know has had Buicks for years and never had anything but great service from them. For every "oh this brand treated me right MINE'S BETTER" story there's a counter story, so don't even bother.

wasn't buick's reliability tied with lexus? oh snap 😉

sounds like the focus will handle better, though. and maybe have a better engine lineup to start.

It'll be interesting to see how the Cruze stacks up when it comes out. Even if it doesn't handle as well if it comes in cheaper than the Focus it could be a very good deal.

It's definitely interesting. Heavier, with equal hp and lower torque doesn't sound too bad realy, has a 6-speed auto (4-speed in the Focus). Edmunds estimates 0-60 of 9.5, not great but it's an econobox after all.

What doesn't make sense to me :

Base Cruze motor : 1.8L, 140hp, 130tq.
Optional Cruze motor : 1.4L Turbo, 140hp, 148tq.

I wouldn't mess with the optional 1.4L motor, just seems redundant. More $ for lower displacement, a bit of extra torque (at what rpm?), and the added strain on a smaller motor with more moving bits?

Very very odd indeed.

$15.5k base puts it in the neighborhood of the Focus, and with incentives and such, it should be a viable choice. Aside from the full-size Truck looking front Chevy bowtie, I think I prefer the styling of the Cruze to the Focus or Cobalt.

It was higher this year.

The 1.4L Turbo is direct injected and gets better fuel economy, so it's probably the one you want.

That makes sense, what fuel economy are they predicting?

Edit: I just looked it up, they are predicting 40+ mpg out of that engine. If that's true and its priced to compete with the focus that could be a huge selling point.
