Is it safe to...

Is it safe to run an overclocked CPU 100% all the time, or rather is it any more dangerous to the components provided you have sufficient cooling?

I like the idea of running the SMP version of F@H on the CPU and then a GPU client as well and letting them fold 24/7

Yep, as long as temps stay under control, you should be fine.

I stopped folding on both my CPU and GPU (Q9300 + GTX460 1GB OC), because temps in my CoolerMaster Elite 330 cases would spiral out of control. My NB heatsink would get so burning hot, heck, the top of my case would even get so hot I couldn't hold my hand on it.

I ran F@H on my/my friend's fleet at 100% on CPU and GPU's for over 7 months. No issues, as long as your temperatures and voltages are under control.

The issue is... the electricity bill. 😀
