Is it safe to use those tight SocketA heatsinks on old S7 cpus?

The Monster 3 at OCZ was too good to pass up. I wonder what kind of cooling it can provide my old Cyrix cpu, but I'm a tad worry about cracking cores.

I've used k7 hsf on my k6-2 twice before... some will fit but sometimes the k6-2 motherboards may have capacitors in the way.

I have been trying to figure out how to fit a old golden orb into my k6-2 350. It came from a socket A cpu. I my have to trimm the edges to avoid hitting some capacitors but the clip is just so darn tight I cant get it down to clip. The alluminum sheild is still in place and I am to chicken to pop it off. I guess it may work if you really work the tension off the clip.

The main thing you have to make sure of is that it is flat on the bottom and doesn't have any FCPGA features that will get in the way
