Is it safe to say most discmans run on 4.5 Volts?

I got a adapter for my car that lets me adjust the voltage it puts out. I want to hook up my discman for my trip home but can't find the a/c adapter to read the voltage. I tried looking up my discman online for specs but couldn't find it. It's on the first mp3 discmans that was released, the MP3 Fit it's called. Bought it at easybuy2000.com

Is it safe to assume discmans run at 4.5 V as that's the number I've been seeing looking up other discmans.

Did you look at the power jack on the discman? Most of them show the polarity and the voltage right next to the power jack.
