Anyone questioning the sheer greed and stupidity of the folks who design/build these structures needs to watch the below:




Drop down ceilings are a sign that there is asbestos being used on the actual ceiling.


By far the most common actual reasons for drop-downs are saving energy on heat and reducing noise/echo.

Using them to seal in asbestos dust would be ineffective and illegal in the US.
