Is it safe to put my (very light) satellite receiver on top of my (very heavy) audio/video receiver? I'm guessing it should be ok, but just thought i'd double-check.

i wouldnt think there would be a problem. Just be cafeful cause recivers tend to get a little toasty on their own and mine has air vents on the top

I wouldn't if it blocks the receivers air holes. They can get really hot.

Yeah my reciever sucks now because I used it for basement college parties and it overheated a couple of times. Now it overheats if barely jam out.

it is better to put the hottest component on top of the stack. so put is under your av receiver. make sure the av receiver can breath, too.

I don't know. The receiver weights about 5x more than my DSS receiver, wouldn't it crust it?

Anyone else wanna comment? It's really annoying. My DSS receiver is sitting on top of my PC case rigth now ;)

I usually don't put anything on top of the receiver. It is not a matter of weight; the receiver gets the hottest of all the components.

Put the receiver on top of the DSS. Unless you have 2 Krell monoblocks stacked on it, it will be fine.

I try to avoid stacking electronics at all costs. Especially things like receivers with power amplifiers inside. They need several inches of airspace around them for adequate cooling.
