Is it safe to put drives in the wrong order on a UDMA66 Cable?

I know that UDMA66 cables are supposed to have the drives in a certain order (system, slave, master I think). I just got a Maxtor 40GB to go along with my Maxtor 30GB and I have to set them up so it goes system, master, slave. It seems to work so far, but will there be any problems?

You should be ok with any order as long as the Cable Select jumpers are not set on the drives.
